SOCIETY OBIT Chance Mason

Chance Mason

Chance Mason
Aurora, Utah

Chance D Mason, born on February 10, 1984, in Provo, Utah.  He left this world too soon at the age of 40, on October 24, 2024, in Parowan. The news of his unexpected passing has cast a profound sense of loss over his family and friends who cherished him dearly.
Known for his vibrant personality, Chance was a fun-loving and social individual who brought joy and laughter into the lives of many. He had an adventurous spirit that often found him wakeboarding at Lake Powell, snowboarding, and reveling in the thrill of all sports (except soccer). As a fan of the Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos, his passion for fantasy sports truly defined him as a sports lover. He loved his Toyota truck and sharing his spontaneous spirit.
Chance completed his education with an Associate Degree from Dixie State and then gained his Pharmacy Technician certification.  He loved the people he worked with and made a lot of friends at Dixie Regional Hospital, Biolife, Redrock Pharmacy and many others. His career allowed him to help people with his kindness, love, and humor.
Family meant everything to Chance. He is survived by his loving mother, Deanna Joyce Mason, his sweetheart Shasta Shurtleff (fiancée), and his cherished siblings: Angie Merchant, Heather (Rick) Torgerson, sister-in-law Cinda Mason and a proud “Funkle” to many nieces and nephews. Their hearts are heavy with the void left by his absence, but they hold dear the cherished memories they created together.
Chance was preceded in death by his father, Dennis G. Mason and brother, Scott Mason, both of whom he missed dearly. Their spirits continue to be a source of comfort as his family honors the bonds they shared.
